About The Founders

Kris Abbott has dedicated her career to helping older adults and people with disabilities live with dignity, independence, and quality of life. As Director of Client Services for Sages Elder Care and GoodLife Senior Care, she oversaw caregiver training, created personalized service plans, and partnered closely with families to ensure care adapted as needs changed.

Kris has lived in Colorado Springs since 1979 and earned her degree in Sociology with honors from Colorado College. Before moving into private senior care, she spent 21 years at Rocky Mountain Health Care Services, a local non-profit agency serving seniors and people with disabilities. There, she administered the El Paso/Teller County Single Entry Point contract for the State of Colorado, helped launch Rocky Mountain Brain Injury Services, and later served as Program Administrator and Vice President for the nationally recognized PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).

With more than three decades of leadership in senior and disability services, Kris brings not only deep expertise but also a heartfelt passion for helping individuals and families navigate care with compassion, respect, and trust.

Bregitta Hughes is on a lifelong mission to help the underserved build, grow, and thrive. With more than 25 years of experience serving the disability and senior community, she has dedicated her career to creating programs where critical services are missing.

As Vice President at Rocky Mountain Health Care Services, Bregitta led innovative programs for survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and their families. For over 15 years, she oversaw Rocky Mountain Brain Injury Services, supporting more than 100 clients through residential and day treatment programs. Her leadership and deep understanding of TBI shaped services that continue to impact lives today.

Bregitta’s expertise was recognized at the state level when Governor John Hickenlooper appointed her to the Colorado Medical Service Board, where she worked to improve Medicaid processes. She also helped launch the El Paso/Teller County Single Entry Point program, connecting individuals with essential care.

Believing safe and affordable housing is at the core of community health, Bregitta has also invested in real estate to expand housing opportunities for low-income and disabled families. Driven, compassionate, and community-focused, she continues to dedicate her work to ensuring no one is left behind.
